Frequently Asked Questions

Is GAM A Free store?

We began as a free community resource and have grown into a Pay What You Can model. Some items have suggested prices to help sustain our space, while still honoring access, dignity, and community care.

Will you do workshops?

Yes, we have started a craft club where we get together and craft most every month.

How are you funded?

Currently, our funding comes from a variety of sources, including donors, fundraisers, peer funds, auctions, grants, and other unique opportunities as we identify them. We are still in the process of determining the most sustainable funding model for our organization.

What are your hours?

Please see our monthly calendar for our opening hours. You are welcome to visit our donation shop during these times or simply browse whenever we are open. Please note that our hours will vary each month. As we are a small team of two building this program while balancing our responsibilities as parents and artists, we are not able to be at GAM five days a week.

Thank you for your understanding.

What kinds of things can I donate?

Please take a look at our "Donate Art Materials" tab to find information on the types of materials we accept for donation.

Can I donate a broken instrument or sewing machine?

We prefer working instruments, machines and items that are free from mold, must, and dust.

How often can we come in?

You're welcome to come in as needed, but please be mindful and leave some for others as we practice mutual aid.

Can we get supplies for our event or classroom?

Absolutely, we'd be happy to discuss the supplies available and what you can borrow or use.

Can we come by for a field trip?

Yes, we certainly encourage field trips!

If your group is larger than 8 people, please email us at info@gammissoula.org so we can prepare accordingly. For larger groups, we may also be able to arrange access on our days off for a more exclusive experience.
